STEALTH: Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Band from Ferrara (Italy)
BASS AND BACKING VOCALS
Born at Portomaggiore (FE), 04\09\74. I started to love music since I was 4, after receiving for present a toy drumset. Fun was shortlived, however, due to the noise level and the annoyed neighboorhood. At 8, after moving to the grandparents in Ferrara, I started to play the keyboards, starting a real approach to music. My first favourite bands were Duran Duran, Queen, Level 42, A-HA, Simple Minds, Depeche Mode, and then I veered to hard rock with Bon Jovi, Guns n' Roses, Motley Crue, Poison… while reading music magazines, I fell in love with the bulky, “physical”, spartan looking bass guitar. In 1990 I somehow got the money to buy my first bass and created my first band, Black Blood with Alessio Giberti and Emanuele Guerzoni, and I started to take lessons at Scuola di Musica Moderna. Black blood soon choose to switch to a more aggressive playing style, which I didn’t appreciate, so I joined Dead Ducx, where I played till my army call. When I came home, I joined “Four F” for 2 years, then “Cerebral” till their break up in 2010. Then I collaborated with “Ipnosi” (a band I still play in) and started an acoustic duo project with Luca Occhi, who one day made me listen to the songs he wrote with his band STEALTH. I was amazed by the music I was hearing, and he and Marcello were looking for a bass player, so I accepted the offering to join STEALTH!
GUITARS AND BACKING VOCALS
I was born in a foggy novembrine Tuesday, 1984. Since I was a child I was interested in music: when 4 years old I was drumming on my mum’s pots and pans in the morning, ruining the sleep of my neighborhood by trying to emulate the bands on the tapes stolen from my sister. I listened to Queen, Michael Jackson and Europe, and at mid school I finally started to attend a free guitar class, starting also to play a lot more than the time I dedicated to studying (even if no teacher had ever been able to shot me dead at the end of school). At age 16 my cousin gave me my first electric guitar, and the flame got ablaze. Completely self-learning, I spend countless hours creating distorted riffs at high volume, improving steadily and starting, after some year, to look for a band. It took a lot of time, but finally I found a bald drummer (who we all know) who was looking for a guitarist. STEALTH were born. Hours of rehearsing, hours of songwriting, but first of all hours to look for the other members of the band. Eventually (VERY eventually) the strike force was completed, and from there tenths of gigs, nice moments and rock ‘n roll. And what will be from now on will be written by you and us together.
Born on 4th of march, 1983, at Ferrara. The passion for music and the will to play an instrument accompanied me through my childhood. At age 19 I realize that the drums are the right choice! I started to take lessons from Iarin Munari and for 2 years I focused on learning to be a good player, then in 2004 with Enrico Ghirelli ( friend of mine since 2001) e Maikel Bononi I start my first band, but things don’t get good, as I don’t like covers, preferring instead to write my own songs. I realized that I still miss the experience for such a project, so I get back to studying for 3 years. In 2007 I decide to try to form a new band, so I searched for musicians in my area, founding Luca Vianello, Luca occhi and Enrico Ghirelli. Viane and Enrico abandoned the project, but me and Luca hold on and we start auditions to find new members, while creating dozens of songs and riffs in the meanwhile. We finally found Andrea and Matia, and the return of Enrico signed the end of the search and the start of STEALTH.
Born in 1976, originally from Bondeno, a small town in the Province of Ferrara, Italy.
I discovered my first musical notes on a keyboard at the age of 6 and it was love at first touch. My real passion for music, however, blossomed thanks to my father Michelangelo who in 1988 put on music cassettes by the likes of Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, which kept us company on car journeys.
From then on I was totally absorbed by the Rock/Metal genres, so much so that for my 13th birthday I asked for my first guitar, a powerful red and white Lead Star, a stratocaster lookalike… I still remember today how I felt when I played my first distorted power chord.
After a year of teaching myself, I decided to take it up for real and I enrolled at the Ferrara School for Modern Music, where R. Formignani initiated me to rudimentary guitar skills, firing my natural inclination, which would soon become dedication, to make music.
In the meantime I played in several different groups in Ferrara and nearby, but without joining a specific band for any significant time. Maybe it was due to this that I stopped playing guitar and concentrated entirely on my university studies.
Then, in 2003, I was bewitched by my Christmas present, a Fender Telecaster Sunburst, which inevitably re-ignited my passion for playing music.
So I started studying guitar again, still taught by R. Formignani, but this time discovering other genres which I would never have given a second thought as a teenager. This allowed me to learn new techniques and fine tune my personal taste.
It was in 2011 that I felt compelled to find a band to play with and where I could express myself musically.
Fate was helped along when I met an old bass player friend of mine, Rambe, in a launderette late at night… we were chatting inanely when the conversation turned to music, so I asked him if he knew of a group looking for a guitarist… and he suggested I join Stealth there and then.
The group wasn’t actually looking for another guitarist at the time, as they only had one guitar in their line up, so Andrea (Rambe) – who wasn’t Stealth’s official bass player yet – suggested I join as a possible bass. As far as I was concerned, I was itching to play and would have taken up any other string instrument. We were all curious to meet each other and so hooked up for a practice session where I was immediately taken by their pieces.
I managed to persuade Luca Occhi and Marcello Danieli to add me as a second guitar and Andrea joined as a bass player. From then on we all committed to working together in Stealth and I felt I had finally found my place and my musical identity.
I was born on the 26th of January 1978, and I live in Giacciano con Baruchella (rovigo). I liked singing when I was a kid, but the true love for music matured when I learned to play guitar and keyboards and started to write my own songs with Matteo Venturini in a band called “Cattivi Pensieri” back in 1992. After this brief experience, I jumped into the “Mantra” project till the end of the band in 1998. Another project was “Catarsi”, a two year lasting formation with my wife Valentina Veronese, Nicola Zerbetto, Stefano Seno, Riccardo Meneghello. After some minor collaboration with various friends (Maikel Bononi, Michele Pasqualini, Marcello Danieli...) in 2004 I recreated “Mantra” with to get back to rock cover live shows. In 2007 I started the first STEALTH adventure, but it lasted just a few months. Meanwhile Mantra band was losing feeling, so in 2011 I turned definitely the page to dedicate myself just to the STEALTH project, completing their formation (Marcello Danieli, Luca Occhi, Andrea Rambelli and Matia Catozzi).
